The Boston Pride played their first game of the season at Warrior Ice Arena against the reigning Isobel Cup Champion Metropolitan Riveters last Saturday, October 13th. It was a battle of the Katies, with the Rivs icing Katie Fitzgerald in net while the Pride countered with rookie Katie Burt. The Riveters sole returning Olympic star, Amanda Kessel, opened the scoring in the first period to give the Rivs the lead. Boston Pride rookie McKenna Brand would score less than 6 minutes later to tie it up, and the Pride never looked back. Getting goals from Dana Trivigno, Haley Skarupa, Jillian Dempsey, and Emily Field on their way to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Riveters. Burt and the Pride downed Fitzgerald and the Rivs in the first every Battle Of The Katies.
