US Women’s Olympic Hockey team wins Best Game at ESPYs awards
All this team does is win win win no matter what
Add another win to Team USA’s Olympic women’s hockey team’s year. The Olympic Gold Medalists won the ESPYs “Best Game” award at the 2018 award ceremony last night
They beat out “Houston Astros defeat Los Angeles Dodgers, World Series Game 5” and “Georgia Bulldogs defeat Oklahoma Sooners, Rose Bowl” in a fan vote.

Team captain Meghan Duggan accepted the award on behalf of the team, all of whom joined her on stage:

The fact that they won on a fan vote, especially over a huge (non-clinching) Game 5 of the World Series, is huge. It is a fan vote. People voted for women’s sports, even when so many people say that no one watches it or that it’s boring or that it’s subpar. Just let that sit for a bit.
The team also won the 2018 Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year award.
