Team USA announces 2019 Women’s National Festival details
The training camp will also be used to select the U18 and U22 teams for the annual series against Canada.
Yesterday, Team USA announced the details of the 2019 Women’s National Festival. The large camp includes senior players down to U18s, and is used to select players for the annual U18 and U22 series against Canada that takes place each August. The Festival itself will take place from August 5-13 in Lake Placid, and the series against Canada will take place August 14-17. Both the U18 and U22 teams will play a best-of-three series against Canada, and tickets will be on sale for all games.

The full roster includes returning 2018 Olympians and a bulk of the 2019 World Championships roster. Players returning after time away include both Lamoureux sisters, Nicole Hensley, and Gigi Marvin. Meghan Duggan, who has not played since the Pyeongchang Olympics, was among three players invited but unable to attend, alongside Boston University standout Jesse Compher and Harvard’s Lily Farden.
As for staff, the head coach for the U18s will be the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Maura Crowell, while the U22 team’s head coach will be the University of Minnesota’s Joel Johnson. Bob Corkum will be reprising his role as the senior national team head coach. Brianna Decker will be attending as both a player and one of the U18 assistant coaches.
