NWHL Goal of the Week: Putigna goes bar down
Putigna rings one in at Webster Bank Arena
This week’s NWHL goal of the week came from the stick of Boston Pride all-star and rookie forward Christina Putigna.
This is one of those goals that you have to see and hear because Putigna put this puck exactly where it had to be — off the iron and in — to beat Connecticut Whale goaltender Brooke Wolejko. This rip from the highest-scoring Canadian player in the league came on the power play with less than five minutes left in the first period and was scored at Webster Bank Arena.
What an absolute rip.
Putigna finished her first season in the NWHL with eight goals and 21 assists in 24 games. She averaged 5.0 SOG/GP and now holds the record for the highest-scoring NWHL season by a Canadian-born skater.
