2023 U18 Worlds Preview

The 15th U18 Worlds begins on Jan. 8 in Sweden

The 2023 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship begins on Jan. 8 in Östersund, Sweden. Team Canada will be looking to win a second consecutive gold medal after its 3-2 win over the U.S. in the 2022 gold medal game. The Swedes are the only country outside of North America to finish with a silver at the U18 Women’s Worlds with a second-place finish in 2018. A medal of any kind would be a massive success for the Swedes on their home ice.

This tournament is the 15th U18 Worlds for women’s hockey and is back in Sweden after the 2021 Swedish tournament was canceled as a result of COVID-19. Games will be broadcast in the U.S. on NHL Network and on TSN, RDS in Canada — we’ll have updates on streaming and which games will be televised as more details emerge.
