Around the Rink: Q & A’s with Sue Merz & Hayley Moore
Allie and Dan are joined this week by 1998 USA Hockey gold medalist and former Connecticut Whale assistant Coach Sue Merz and Vice President of Hockey Operations for the AHL Hayley Moore.
Over the past few weeks on Around the Rink, Allie Morse and Dan Rice were joined by 1998 USA Hockey gold medalist and former Connecticut Whale assistant coach Sue Merz, and the Vice President of Hockey Operations for the AHL, Hayley Moore.
Merz told us about her time behind the Whale bench and how she first joined The Pod, what it was like to win the first gold medal for USA Hockey on the women’s side and some of her favorite memories from that time and those teams.
Moore detailed how she made the jump from the NWHL (the various roles with the Boston Pride, and the league’s front office) to the AHL, if she was in consideration for one of the GM roles in the newly formed PWHL (spoiler alert - she was!), and her favorite parts of being involved with the NWHL from its inception.
