Bracketology: The Final Day
Who will play for a chance to play in Boston?
Welcome back to The Ice Garden’s Bracketology column.
As always you can follow along from home using the PWR Calculator BCI’s Grant Salzano created from scratch. On the site you can edit past and future results to see where the rankings would end up. The odds of each are calculated via the KRACH rankings.
We have reached the final day before we have the NCAA tournament field announced tonight. There are only three games to go with lots of intrigue
What we know already
We have three teams that are locked into home ice: Cornell, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Two teams are locked into traveling: Ohio State and Mercyhurst.
As for seeding all we know is Cornell will be the top seed and Wisconsin will be the 2nd seed. Clarkson will be 7th if they make the tournament.
What is left
Northeastern will play the other Huskies from Connecticut in the Hockey East Championships with a home ice bid and the third seed on the line. They know if they win they will be 3rd, if they lose they will either be 4th or if all three games go poorly for them they will be 5th.
Princeton will play the top seeded Cornell in the ECAC Championships trying to keep their hopes of hosting alive.
Wisconsin will wrap up our hockey for the day as they take on upset minded Ohio State in the WCHA Championships.

As always here at The Ice Garden we assume the committee will stick to the rule book and just minimize flights to save costs. We do not plan on a repeat of the mess they made in 2016. Though the only possible cost saver available would be Clarkson to Cornell or even more egregious would be Connecticut to Northeastern
The bracket will be announced on NCAA.com tonight at 9 p.m.
