Two Team Canada players will be facing off against a group of NHL players, but on the virtual ice in the Sportsnet Bracket Challenge. Erin Ambrose and Mélodie Daoust are two of 16 players who will be squaring off in NHL20 online games for charity.
Ambrose is playing for Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Daoust is playing for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The games started on June 17, but neither Ambrose nor Daoust were in the first set. The remaining games start at 7 p.m. eastern on Sportsnet’s YouTube every Monday and Wednesday until July 13. There’s no exact date for when they will be playing, however.

On a Sportsnet Ask31 interview on YouTube, Ambrose detailed her experience with NHL20. She explained that while with Team Canada, the healthy scratches would play NHL before games. She called herself a casual player, though she’s never played online.
“I wouldn’t say I’m at any level compared to the guys,” she said. “I’ve been practicing really hard. I’ve been training a lot.” Her goal is make it through one round.
As for her teammate, she was a little more concerned about Daoust.
“Melo’s not the best gamer.”
