The Founding 4 Podcast: the season ends and the playoffs begin
It’s time to talk 2018 NWHL Playoffs! And NWHL Awards! And lots of other stuff!
The NWHL regular season is over and Mike and Erica were all over it in this week’s episode of the Founding 4 Podcast. We also talk about the Beauts signing Jordan Juron, some thoughts on the NWHL award season, and, of course, the 2018 Isobel Cup Playoffs. But first, we broke down the final weekend of the 2017-18 NWHL regular season.
The Riveters found their even strength scoring touch in a 4-1 victory over the Pride that was headlined by the return of Miye D’Oench and Madison Packer scoring the only hat trick of the 2017-18 season. Do you hear that? Yes, that’s music to the ears of Riveters fans.
Earlier on Saturday night the Beauts extended their winning streak in a 4-1 victory of their own despite a valiant effort from the Whale. It was all Connecticut in the first period, but the home team got derailed in the second period. A delay of game penalty put Buffalo on the power play and that was all that the Beauts needed to find their game. The visiting team scored three straight goals in the second and added an empty netter in the final minute of the third.
