Full Team NWHL roster announced for two-game series with Team USA

Twenty-two players have been selected to represent Team NWHL in a two-game series against the U.S Women’s National Team.  Hayley Moore, current Deputy Director of the league, served as the Team NWHL general manager and selected the team to face-off against the women’s national team in a final tune-up before the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

“We are incredibly excited about this experience for our players, and we’re very proud to play this important role in USA Hockey’s preparation for the Olympics,” said Moore in today’s press release. “These players have all earned their opportunity in the spotlight. They will be representing the entire NWHL.”

The announcement was made in two parts, with 12 forwards being named Wednesday, and 10 defenders and two goaltenders were announced on Twitter. While all of the Founding Four teams are represented, the numbers heavily favor the Metropolitan Riveters and the Boston Pride.

The Buffalo Beauts and the Connecticut Whale will be participating in the second neutral ice regular season game of the third season during the same weekend. The two teams will drop the puck at the UMPC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cherry Hill. PA, the site of last year’s NWHL All-Star Game.

The league is expected to unveil the Team NWHL jersey and team captains tomorrow. For now, meet Team NWHL:
