How to watch the US v Canada U18 and U22 series
The two countries are set to face off in a three-game series
Hockey is back — sort of!
Following each country’s development camp, held earlier this week, the U18 and U22 teams for the US and Canada are set to face off in a three-game series in Calgary.
The games will be live streamed on Hockey Canada’s site and also on HockeyTV. While usually HockeyTV is a subscription site, it appears all you need to watch is a general log in this time. That’s right friends, we have a chance to check in on the next generation of talent that will compete in the greatest rivalry in sports.
U18 Series
Schedule:
Thursday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. est - Hockey Canada, Hockey TV
Friday, Aug 17 at 6 p.m. est - Hockey Canada, Hockey TV
Sunday, Aug 19 at 3 p.m. est - Hockey Canada, Hockey TV
- This is the 12th edition of the U18 Series, which has run annually since 2007.
- The series marks the first appearance of US gold medalist Brianna Decker behind the bench as an assistant coach for the US.
- For the US, eight players who played at U18 Worlds are on the roster.
- For Canada, three players from the U18 rosters will play in the series.

U22 Series

- This is the 14th edition of the U22 Series, which has been held every non-Olympic year since 1999.
- Canada’s Alex Poznikoff played her way onto the team after not being in the camp. She was on the U Sports All-Star team that played against the split developmental squad. She is the one of two U Sports players (goalie Tricia Deguire is the other) on the roster. (h/t Kirsten Whalen).
- Two US gold medalists (Cayla Barnes and Maddie Rooney) are on the US’s roster.
