Krissy Wendell inducted into USA Hockey Hall of Fame
Team USA’s most prolific scorer in Worlds competition is now in the USHHOF
Yesterday, Team USA icon Krissy Wendell was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame along with Gary Bettman, Brian Gionta, Tim Thomas, and Neal Henderson.

Wendell is just the sixth woman to receive the honor of being inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, following longtime teammate Natalie Darwitz. Wendell won an Olympic silver and an Olympic bronze as well as one gold and five silver medals at the IIHF Women’s World Championships with the United States women’s national team. Wendell is ranked fifth all-time in scoring and has the highest Pts/GP (2.03) in Worlds competition for Team USA.

Wendell and Darwitz are two of the four players in NCAA D-I history to eclipse the 100-point mark in a single season. In the 2004-05 campaign, Wendell piled up 104 points in 40 games, finishing second in the nation in scoring (behind Darwitz) and leading the nation with 43 goals. Only eight skaters have scored more goals in a single season than the 43 that Wendell buried in 2004-05.
Prior to her Patty Kazmaier Award-winning senior season, Wendell and the Golden Gophers won the national championship in 2004. She is fourth all-time in program history in scoring, with 237 points in 101 games and her 2.35 Pts/GP scoring rate is second in program history behind only Darwitz.
