Laila Edwards Steals the Show, Named Worlds 2024 MVP
It's Laila's world, we are all just living in it.

Laila Edwards will return from Utica with much more than some impactful memories and a silver medal from her first senior major tournament. The Wisconsin Badger earned MVP honors for her performance for Team USA and was named a Media All-Star, joining national team teammates Caroline Harvey and Alex Carpenter.
She was, very clearly, the breakout star of the 2024 World Champioship.
Edwards put on a show with her nose for the net, controlled physical play, and poise on the big stage. She had six goals – including a statement hat trick in the semifinal – and two assists to finish tied for fifth on USA in scoring. She shared the tournament lead in goals even though Edwards averaged just 10:44 TOI/GP – she was moved up the lineup as a result of her strong play but saw limited usage in the group stage.
Laila Edwards. Gold medal game goal after scoring a hatty in the semifinals. It's Laila's tournament.
