Monique Lamoureux-Morando, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson retire from Team USA
The sisters capped off their international career with Olympic gold in 2018
After 135 games with Team USA for Monique Lamoureux-Morando and 137 for Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, the twin sisters are hanging up their skates.
Their National Team careers span 16 years, starting in 2006 at the Four Nations Cup. They played in seven World Championships, winning six gold medals and one silver medal. They played in three Olympics games, earning two silver medals and one gold. Among those are Four Nation Cups, Under-22 Series, showcases, and more. Lamoureux-Morando netted 143 points (62 goals, 81 assists) while Lamoureux-Davidson racked up 138 points (63 goals, 75 assists).
They started their collegiate career at the University of Minnesota before transferring to the University of North Dakota after the 2010 Olympics. In the NCAA, Lamoureux-Morando had 265 points (113 goals, 152 assists) while Lamoureux-Davidson had 285 points (125 goals, 160 assists). At North Dakota, they hold the top two spots for goals, assists, points, and points per game with Lamoureux-Davidson barely edging out her sister in all four categories.
Their careers and stats are so closely intertwined but perhaps no closer than in their last in a USA sweater: the gold medal game in PyeongChang. Lamoureux-Morando tied the game late to send it to overtime, and eventually a shootout where Lamoureux-Davidson scored the goal that would win Team USA their first Olympic gold medal in 20 years. It’s almost a poetic ending in that way.
