During the selection show on Sunday, the NCAA announced the bracket for the 2025 national tournament. With five autobids and six at-large bids, 11 teams are set to hit the ice for a chance to make the Frozen Four at Ridder Arena University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.

Both the WCHA and the ECAC lead the pack with four programs heading to the tournament, while the only schools from Hockey East, AHA and NEWHA were their tournament champions. The regional sites for the tournament’s first two rounds are set to be played at the top four teams.

Wisconsin, after winning the WCHA tournament and losing just one game over the course of their entire season, is the No. 1 seed. Hockey East Champion Boston University will face off against Clarkson, who received an at-large bid, in the first round in Madison, WI. The victor of the opening round game will then get to play Wisconsin for a chance at the Frozen Four.

The reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes are the No. 2 seed, hosting AHA’s champion Penn State and St. Lawrence in Columbus, Ohio. After the game between the Nittany Lions and the Saints on Thursday, the winner will then play against OSU on Saturday.

ECAC championship-winning Cornell hosts the third regional in Ithaca, New York as the No. 3 seed in 2025. The first round will consist of Minnesota-Duluth and Sacred Heart, the latter of which is making their first appearance in the NCAA tournament after winning the NEWHA championship. The Bulldogs and Pioneers also will play on Thursday, before Cornell gets the winner of the opening game on Saturday.

The final regional will be played between two tournament runner-ups, No. 4 Minnesota who’s hosting No. 5 Colgate. The two squads will face off in a one-off on Saturday, with the winner automatically advancing to the Frozen Four.

At the other three regionals, those who win the second game of the weekend will also head to the Frozen Four. The FF semifinals are currently scheduled for Friday, March 21st, with the national championship game the following Sunday.
