Noora Räty is a contestant on Survivor Finland
Räty can survive and thrive on the ice, but can she survive the Philippines?
Noora Räty, 2018 Olympic bronze medalist and hockey superstar, is one of 16 celebrity contestants competing on the first celebrity season of Selviytyjät Suomi (Survivor Finland). Today Räty boarded a plane bound for the Caramoan Islands in the Philippines. Former NHL forward Niklas Hagman is also a contestant on the show.

Of course, Räty isn’t the first women’s hockey player to make an appearance on reality television. Team Canada stars Natalie Spooner and Meaghan Mikkelson were contestants on season two of the Amazing Race Canada in 2014. The duo nearly won their season, but finished in second place in the final race. We’ll have to wait and see if Räty has better luck in Southeast Asia.
Räty will be competing on the show this May, but it appears that her season won’t be televised until spring 2019. If she wins she will win 30,000 euros.
Earlier this year Räty earned honors as the CWHL’s Goaltender of the Year in addition to being selected as the goaltender for the Media’s All-Stars at the PyeongChang Olympics.
