NWHL enters 3-year partnership with K1 Sportswear

Another day, another brand partnership for the NWHL

The NWHL and NWHLPA announced Tuesday morning that, ahead of its sixth season, the league will be entering a multi-year partnership with K1 Sportswear.

The Minnesota-based brand will serve as “the exclusive jersey supplier” of the NWHL, tasked with manufacturing jerseys for the players to wear during the regular season and for all special events (including the annual All-Star festivities). Historically, K1 Sportswear has supplied jerseys and uniforms to a variety of men’s leagues, including junior leagues like the NAHL and USHL as well as minor leagues like the ECHL and SPHL.

“K1 Sportswear is honored to be the exclusive uniform supplier for the NWHL and to be a major contributor in the advancement of girls’ and women’s hockey,” says K1 Sportswear’s owner and president, Tony Fisher, in the published release, and added that, as part of their commitment to empowering women in sports, will “prioritize an all-female team” to manage the partnership on K1 Sportswear’s end.

The new partnership comes after the NWHL and NWHLPA announced a committee of players and league staff designed to generate partnerships with brands dedicated to investing in women’s sports. K1 Sportswear is just the latest product of this committee, with recovery technology brand Hyperice and Toronto-based Bladetech having been announced as league partners earlier this offseason.
