PHF Goals of Week: Dec. 4-5
Hat tricks, and blowouts, and sweeps, oh my!
After a weekend off, the PHF was back in action as the Whale headed to Minnesota and Boston hosted the Toronto Six.
The Whale took the first game 5-1, in their first ever win against the Whitecaps. Alyssa Wohlfeiler tacked on the third goal in their series of five, with an impressive passing sequence.

Onto the next game, Toronto took Boston to a shootout on their home ice with help from this goal by Emma Woods in the second period. Garnering attention from Sportsnet and the likes, Boquist connected with Woods for this amazing stick handling play.

Ultimately, the Pride did win in the shootout with help from Christina Putigna who will likely always make my list of top goals. Calm and collected, Putigna went top shelf after faking out Samantha Ridgewell before McKenna Brand closed it out for Boston to hand Toronto their first loss of the season.

Sunday, the same teams squared off with a lot more goals scored on the day. Toronto fell to Boston 8-2, one of the first games reminiscent of the near-perfect season for them back in 2019 when they were crushing teams on the regular.
With ten goals to choose from, it was tough to narrow down but it wouldn’t be fair to not mention the goal that got Kali Flanagan her first PHF point, with an assist to Wenczkowski on this one.

We also saw a two-goal game from Sammy Davis, and a ton of multi-point games across the Pride but, leave it to captain Jillian Dempsey to stick out the most. She opened and closed the scoring, getting to her 53rd career goal mark by the end of it with this goal below, with an additional assist as well.

Across a few state lines in Connecticut, the Whale swept the Whitecaps on the weekend, taking this game 4-2 with a hat trick by Taylor Girard. Her second goal was assisted by Kennedy Marchment, who leads the team in points.
