PWHL NHL 25 Showdown w' Alyssa & Elisha: Game 2
Alyssa and Montréal even the series in TIG’s NHL 25 Virtual PWHL Showdown

As the PWHL regular season slowly comes to an end, Alyssa and Elisha have taken their excitement to the console ahead of the 2025 Walter Cup Playoffs. For the next few weeks the two TIG creators will face off against one another in the video game NHL 25. Alyssa will play as the Montréal Victoire while Elisha plays as the Ottawa Charge.
If you missed Game 1, you can read the recap of the game and find the video here. To give you the short version, Elisha and the Charge quite literally took charge of the series with a 7-4 win over the Victoire and Alyssa.
Game 2 saw a double goalie change as Montréal decided to start Elaine Chuli while Ottawa sent shockwaves through the PWHL community as Maschmeyer took a seat while the undrafted Winnipeg product, Logan Anger took centre stage as the Charge were looking to take a 2-0 series lead. 7:12 into the first period the Ottawa Charge found the back of the net as Elaine Chuli couldn’t stop an impressive tip-in goal from Gabbie Hughes off of a Rebecca Leslie point shot on just Ottawa’s second shot of the game.

In her first career (virtual) PWHL game, Logan Anger stole the show in the first period as she turned away 11 shots from the high-scoring Victoire offence. The second period was no different for the young Ottawa goalie as she had a shutout heading into the second intermission, with several of her saves being highlight reel ones.
As the puck dropped, Alyssa made Elisha laugh a little too hard, causing her to be distracted by the game which would go on to benefit the Victoire and Alyssa. On the 18th shot of the night, captain Marie-Philip Poulin used Jocelyne Larocque as a screen as she picked her spot above Logan Anger’s blocker to tie things up just 20 seconds into the third period.

Despite being beaten early in the third, Logan Anger continued to make big save after big save for the Charge as the Victoire pressed offensively. The biggest save of the night came off of a Mikyla Grant-Mentis net-front chance where Anger dove across her crease to deny the go-ahead goal.

Dominika Lásková went end-to-end with less than four minutes on the clock and crashed the net (literally) as she scored the second goal of the game for Montréal. Despite the possibility of a goaltender interference, it looked like the puck went in before Lásková made contact with Anger.

With 1:11 remaining in regulation a beautiful one-time shot from Amanda Boulier would find the top right corner. As Alyssa and Montreal took the two-goal lead, Elisha and Ottawa attempted to take a timeout, which would then cause the game to crash and both of them lose connection. With so little time remaining, Alyssa and Elisha decided to call the game as it meant that the series was now tied.

Game 3 will be next week as the series is tied at one apiece with the opportunity for anything to happen. Will both teams continue to stay with their new goalies? Will Alyssa make Elisha cry laughing again? Stay tuned!
