PWHL releases waiver list
Yesterday, 16 players hit waivers and all six PWHL teams must be roster-compliant by 5 p.m. ET today. That means 23 SPA and up to three reserve players for each team.
Last night, the PWHL released the league's waiver list. These are players who have not signed a standard player agreement – in other words, a contract – with the team they have been in training camp with. This includes players who were offered a contract and chose not to sign as well as draft picks and camp attendees who were not signed. So, these are the players cut from camp.
The waiver period closes today at 3 p.m. ET and all teams must be roster compliant by tonight at 5 p.m. ET. So, this is an eventful day for a lot of players who have been preparing for the 2024-25 PWHL season. Players who are not on the waiver list have likely either signed a SPA or have agreed to be a reserve player. Each team may have up to three reserve players (handy for inevitable injuries) and 23 players signed to SPAs.
