PWHPA’s St. Louis Dream Gap Tour Showcase postponed due to COVID exposure
The PWHPA makes the right call, postpones games on Sunday and Monday
Late last night, the PWHPA announced the postponement of its Secret Dream Gap Tour in St. Louis on Sunday and Monday due to one of the two participating teams — Team adidas (Minnesota) and Team Women’s Sports Foundation (New Hampshire) — being exposed to COVID. The decision was reached by the PWHPA after “recent tests” prompted caution.

Sunday’s game was scheduled to take place at the Centene Community Ice Center and Monday’s game was being held at the Enterprise Center, the home rink of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues. Both games were open to fans. Fans who bought tickets to the games will be able to use them when the showcase is rescheduled.
“We are proud to have successfully navigated back to back events in New York and Chicago, but this serves as a stark reminder of why strict protocols were put in place — to ensure any positive cases were caught before any player or staff member traveled to St. Louis.”, said Jayna Hefford, PWHPA Operations Consultant. “We are heartbroken but the PWHPA looks forward to being able to play in front of the St. Louis fans in full health — and full force — at a future date to be determined.”
All signs indicate the Blues are dedicated to hosting the showcase at a future date, which is good news. Saturday’s Women in Leadership panel, featuring PWHPA players Hilary Knight and Abby Roque will go on as scheduled. It is a virtual event.
This St. Louis showcase is the third major PWHPA event of the season and the first to be postponed due to COVID concerns.
