Rounds 3-5 of the 2018 NWHL Draft
Some history
Yesterday, the first two rounds of the 2018 NWHL Draft gave us plenty to talk about. Today, the league concluded this year’s senior draft and announced the picks for rounds 3-5 over Twitter and Instagram. There were no prior trades involving draft picks, so all five NWHL teams came away from the 2018 Draft with five prospects.
A little bit of history was made in round three when the Riveters started things off by selecting the first-ever NCAA D-III player in the NWHL Draft. We also saw the first goalie of the draft go at the bottom of the fourth round — the Pride took RPI’s Swedish netminder Lovisa Selander off the board with the 20th overall pick. In the round before that, Boston selected Emily Clark, the fourth Pyeongchang Olympian to be selected in this year’s draft.
