SB Nation’s Women’s College Hockey Division I Poll: Beautiful Beginnings
We are back for our fourth season and are looking forward to the season returning to full swing.
A new season a new batch of fun results. This weekend was on the slower side but even more teams will start playing in the coming week.
1. Wisconsin (2-0-0), 120 (12) — Last poll: 1
• Last Week: W 4-0 @ Lindenwood (9/27), W 6-2 @ Lindenwood (9/28)
• Coming Week: v Penn State (10/4, 10/5)
The Badgers started off where the left off last season with another shutout before finally letting up a goal. Next up, they open up at home against a weak Penn State team.
2. Minnesota (2-0-0), 106 — Last poll: 2
• Last week: W 2-0 v Colgate (9/27), W 8-1 v Colgate (9/28)
• Coming Week: @ Minnesota State (10/4, 10/5)
While they ended their season on a dud the Gophers opened up strong statement against a Colgate team that has been a tough out of late. They now travel to Mankato for a pair of conference games.
3. Clarkson (2-0-0), 93 — Last poll: 3
• Last week: W 4-3 @ Syracuse (9/27), W 5-1 v Syracuse (9/28)
• Coming Week: @ Minnesota-Duluth (10/4, 10/5)
Despite a scare against the Orange in the first game the Golden Knights responded well at home in a dominant win. Their next opponent is a fellow ranked team in Duluth.
4. Northeastern (0-0-0), 85 — Last poll: 5

• Coming Week: @ Union (10/4)
The Huskies open their season on the road against Union as they try to live up to high expectations.
5. Cornell (0-0-0), 64 — Last poll: 4
• Last week: No Games
• Coming Week: No Games
The Big Red start their season later as an Ivy Leaguer.
6. Princeton (0-0-0), 58 — Last poll: 7
• Last week: No Games
• Coming Week: No Games
The Tigers will also be off for awhile.
7. Boston University (0-0-0), 42 — Last poll: T-9
• Last week: No Games
• Coming Week: @ Union (10/6)
Boston University far exceeded expectations last year and look to continue that this season as they also open up at Union.
8. Ohio State (2-0-0), 39 — Last poll: 8
• Last week: W 4-1 v St. Lawrence (9/27), W 3-2 v St. Lawrence (9/28)
• Coming Week: @ St. Cloud State (10/4, 10/5)
The Buckeyes took care of business and then had some late game theatrics to complete their sweep of the Saints. They will open conference play on the road in St. Cloud.
9. Boston College (2-0-0), 37 — Last poll: 6
• Last week: W 2-0 @ Merrimack (9/27), W 3-1 @ Merrimack (9/28)
• Coming Week: @ Holy Cross (10/3), @ Syracuse (10/5)
Despite a scary incident on Friday that sent Delaney Belinskas to the hospital, the Eagles were able to sweep Merrimack to start of their conference season with a full four points. They have a mid week bout at Holy Cross before traveling out to Syracuse.
10. Minnesota-Duluth (0-0-0), 11 — Last poll: ARV

The Bulldogs open against the new perennial power Clarkson and look to make a statement for the new season.
