Team Canada Announces Roster Ahead of Final Leg of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series
Who’s in and who’s out for Canada in the final exhibition games vs. Team USA.
Hockey Canada has released their roster of who will face the U.S. in the final leg of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series, which is set to take place on the East Coast of Canada starting on Feb. 6.
"We are excited about the group of players we have assembled for these final two games against the Americans, which gives us another chance to look at the depth of our program while we look ahead to the Women’s World Championship in April,” said Canada’ General Manager Gina Kingsbury in a press release. “We are thrilled to immerse ourselves within two passionate hockey communities, meet with fans and showcase women’s hockey to everyone in Halifax and Summerside.”
Out of the chosen players, 21 had previously participated in the American leg of the 2024-25 Rivalry series games. The four players that have come off the roster include Sophie Shirley, Jaime Bourbonnais, Chloe Primerano, and Kristen Campbell. Replacing them will be Jennifer Gardiner, Sophie Jaques, Micah Zandee-Hart, and Corinne Schroeder.
Before panic sets in, NCAA players are not included in the second round of the Rivalry Series due to an agreement with their college teams for playoffs, so don’t worry, Chloe Primerano did not get cut.
Corinne Schroeder is also getting another National Team look as she replaces Toronto Sceptres goalie Kristen Campbell, who has struggled this PWHL season after winning goaltender of the year last season.

Team Canada is currently in the lead over Team USA 2-1 in this year’s Rivalry Series after they won Games 2 and 3. With two games to play, home ice is on Canada’s side as the east coast has a chance to host both games. Game 4 will take place on Feb. 6 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Game 5 on Feb. 8 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
Both games will be broadcast live on TSN in Canada and the NHL Network in the United States.
