The Founding 4 Podcast Episode 18: “Go West, you!”
Episode 18 of your favorite NWHL-centric podcast!
Hey, Founding 4 Podcast fans! Mike and I are back for another week to chat all things NWHL, have a listen HERE or on the player below. We kick off this week’s episode by chatting about the newest rookies in the league: Sam Donovan and Mallory Souliotis. Both debuted in Boston last week but had slightly different introductions to the pros. In this episode, we also discuss the much improved Boston Pride team and the red-hot Beauts. Each organization is showing as of late why they have ownership of the first two Isobel Cup titles in NWHL history.
The Whale and the Riveters face-off in the first round with a franchise-first trip to the final on the line. Can the Connecticut Whale play spoiler and make their first trip to the Isobel Cup Final? Can the Riveters revive their offense and again become the team to beat? Only time will tell, more on that next week.
However, first, we have our regular season finale previews. Mike gives his thoughts on the Riveters at Pride, while I share my players to watch and score predictions for Beauts at Whale. Additionally, we revisit expansion talk, with the help of some amazing listener suggestions like this one from Anna Shea:
Okay, nothing like as well thought-out as I'd like, because I've been super busy, but a very rough first draft at a Midwestern expansion. #Founding4Pod pic.twitter.com/QlhSObgZqb

Mike grabs his money bags and makes his top three expansion picks from our latest submissions. I follow with a few of my own (as well as a deep-rooted opinion about deep dish “pizza”) before we close out and get ready for the final week of the regular season (Where did the time go?).
As always, make sure to check out the latest episode of Top Shelf with Hannah Bevis and Michelle Jay. We also hope you will subscribe to our TIG Podcast Network Patreon.
