The Wraparound: end of August

This week, we saw the WNBA, NBA, MLS, MLB, and, eventually, the NHL go on strike in response to police shooting Jacob Blake. The top of the link round up is links about that, from my own words about what women’s hockey needs to do to some must reads from others in the SBNation NHL and women’s sports sphere.

There’s also a YouTube link to a panel discussion that includes Renee Hess of Black Girl Hockey Club. Plus Saroya Tinker, Blake Bolden, and Sarah Nurse are somehow still not part of the Hockey Diversity Alliance, a glaring issue for the HDA that’s been pointed out since the organization was created.

In the US, it’s election season, and one way to make an impact is to vote. Vote.org has resources to help you both on their site, but also can point you to state level sites. Local elections matter so get informed and make your voice heard.
