Furies Forward Kelly Terry Announces Retirement

Toronto Furies star forward Kelly Terry announced her retirement from the CWHL and hockey today on her personal twitter and instagram accounts. She is 24-years-old and will be turning 25 in June.

Terry finishes her CWHL career with 33 points in 56 career regular season games over three seasons. She finished third on Toronto in points in the 2016-17 season and was second on the team in even strength scoring.

This year Terry set a new personal high water mark with the six goals she scored to finish tied for second on Toronto in goals scored. Only Natalie Spooner buried more goals for the Furies in the 2016-17 season.

In the 2017 Clarkson Cup Playoffs Terry put up two points - including a game-winning goal - for Toronto.

Terry played her college hockey at the University of Minnesota and represented Canada at the 2015 Women’s Worlds where she won silver. Earlier in her hockey career she won a gold medal with Canada at the 2010 U-18 Worlds.

Terry represented the Furies as an All-Star for the second time in her career this year. She will undoubtedly be missed by a Furies team that is already losing a lot of talent due to Olympic centralization.
