Toronto to host CWHL All-Star Game and Clarkson Cup Final
The league is partnering with the Maple Leafs for both events
Hockey fans in Toronto have a lot to look forward to this year!
Today, the CWHL announced Toronto will host both the All-Star Game and the Clarkson Cup Final. The Maple Leafs are partnering with the league.
On Jan. 20, the All-Star Game will be played at the Scotiabank Arena, the home of the Maple Leafs. This is the fourth year the game will be played in the NHL arena. The CWHL did not have an All Star Game last season due to the Olympics.
On March 24, the Clarkson Cup Final will be played at Coca-Cola Coliseum, the home of the Maple Leafs’ AHL affiliate, the Marlies. This is the second year in a row that the Clarkson Cup Final will be played at the facility, which was formerly known as Ricoh Coliseum.
“We’re so excited to bring the world’s best female hockey players to Toronto, where all sports fans will have the opportunity to witness the world’s top talent in one place. The Toronto Maple Leafs have been invaluable to our development as we continue to set the standard for professional women’s hockey. Throughout the weekend’s festivities, the CWHL will leave a lasting impression on the City of Toronto and its fans,” said Interim Commissioner Jayna Hefford in the league’s press release.
The All Star Game’s 34-player roster will be released at a later date.
Both will be broadcast on Sportsnet.
