Whitecaps Re-Sign Patti Marshall to 2-Year Deal
Two-time All Star stays home in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Whitecaps announced on Wednesday that they’ve re-signed defender and two-time PHF All-Star Patti Marshall to a new, two-year contract. She was selected 11th overall in the 2020 Draft by the Whitecaps after four seasons at the University of Minnesota. Marshall played the 2020-21 season in the SDHL with Brynäs IF.
“I’m super excited to be returning to such a great organization for the next two years. I love playing in my home state, especially with my friends and family around. After making the Isobel Cup Final last season, I’m excited to get back on the ice with the girls and bring Izzy home to Richfield this season,” Marshall said in the press release announcing the new deal.
In 46 games over two seasons with the Whitecaps, Marshall has recorded 19 points (2g-17a) and added an additional five assists in five postseason games. The Thief River Falls, Minnesota native is also currently in her third year of dental school.
Marshall is the 18th player under contract for the Whitecaps ahead of Season 9, joining goaltenders Amanda Leveille and Chantal Burke, defenders Olivia Knowles, Amanda Boulier, Sidney Morin, Madison Bizal, and Maggie Flaherty, and forwards Ashleigh Brykaliuk, Liz Schepers, Anna Klein, Brittyn Fleming, Brooke Bryant, Sydney Brodt, Catie Skaja, Abigal Boreen, Claire Butorac, and Ronja Mogren.
